The LAGOS-SUB diving school is situated at the Fishing Port in Lagos, near to the Marina.

Detlef seegar, a CMAS 2 Stars and national instructor of the Portuguese Federation is the owner manager. He opened the centre in 1980 and there are few people who have his wealth of experience and knowledge of these local waters.

The centre is open all year, with dives every day. The dives vary from 10 meters to 36 meters to some great locations along the coast, between Alvor and Sagres. One location of particular interest are the caves at Ponta da Piedade, an area jutting out into the sea just near Lagos. If wrecks are your thing then there are two French steamers from WW1 and WW2 that were sunk just of the coast which prove to be interesting dives. Detlef also arranges night dives.

The 'IEMANJA', the diving boat will take you to all these locations, measuring some 11 meters with a 130 HP engine it is fully equipped with GPS, 3D sonar and room for 15 divers.

The LAGOS-SUB caters for all levels of divers, as well as running courses from complete beginners right up to assistant instructor. It is a government licenced diving school and everything is run in accordance with the federation regulations of FPAS, CMAS, VIT and PADI.

Do remember however that inorder to dive, divers must have with them a diving certificate, log book and an up to date medical certificate.
